Pete loved hunting as much as socializing with friends. Every weekend he traveled faithfully to the cabin in the "mountains" off of St. Helena road outside of Santa Rosa. The makeup of individuals that would attend the weekly hunting sessions changed over the years but the itinerary was nearly always the same. Arrive after work on Friday. Make dinner -- usually burnt barbecue chicken. Party late and wake up early for hunting. Later in life Pete stopped taking every shot and sometime in his late 40s he set down his rifle for good.
